The Green Globe program, brand and all related products and services will be managed and developed on a global basis under the banner of Green Globe International.

Elm Wildlife Tours wins Prestigious Tourism Award :: 23 September 2005
Tour operator Elm Wildlife Tours, operating around the Otago Peninsula, has been
awarded the prestigious 2005 Green Globe Environmental Award for its
achievement in preserving the habitat of rare penguins, while delivering a world
class experience for visitors to the region.
Awaroa Lodge Awarded for Innovation in Eco Tourism :: 28 September 2005
Awaroa Lodge, a Green Globe Benchmarked property, has been presented with the
New Zealand Tourism Award for Innovation in Eco Tourism. The lodge has taken a
clever approach to recycling, which had to deal with a unique set of issues due to its
location in the Abel Tasman National Park.
Warren Hoy, marketing manager, says the “Eco-vision of the business means that
all innovations must have no impact on the environment and fit with customer
values. To that end we went through a very robust Green Globe 21 benchmarking
program from 2003”.
Winners of the 2005 Skål International Ecotourism Awards Announced :: 27 October 2005
The 4th Annual Skål International Ecotourism Awards were
presented by the President of Skål International, Matanyah Hecht
and Director of Media and Public Relations, Ms. Hulya Aslantas
during the Opening Ceremony of the 66th Skål World Congress
held in Zagreb, Croatia, on 17th October 2005 under the patronage
of the President of Croatia Mr. Stjepan Mesic.
Kea Campers Wins Five Tourism Awards :: 28 September 2005
Kea Campers (New Zealand) has almost scooped the pool by winning five major
awards at the annual Tourism Awards ceremony in Auckland. For the second year
in a row, Kea Campers has been recognised by the tourism industry for its focus on
excellence and innovation by taking out the Supreme Tourism Award. Kea had
demonstrated considerable ingenuity and innovation. The company has begun
hiring high quality motorcycles as well as luxury motor homes. It has also started
exporting its campers to South Africa and installed e-commerce capabilities in its
campervans and motor homes.
